About Us

About Jaime — Registered Dietitian in the Bronx, NY

My Story

In my late 20s, routine blood work changed everything.

My HbA1c (this shows us our 2-3 month blood glucose history) was elevated and my thyroid function was abnormal — something that surprised, and concerned me because I exercised regularly, maintained a healthy weight, and ate well.  I was upset; I was doing everything "right", and my body failed me.

My primary care physician wasn’t concerned and prescribed thyroid medication, but the experience left me feeling disconnected from my own body.

After seeking additional opinions, I eventually found a physician who focused on treating the whole person and prioritizing lifestyle changes.

With adjustments to how I was eating, I began to feel like myself again and was able to come off medication. That experience permanently shaped how I think about healthcare and nutrition.

A Fertility Journey That Deepened My Approach

In 2018, after a year of marriage, my husband and I were ready to start a family. During a routine visit with my gynecologist, testing revealed my thyroid levels were once again out of range. I restarted medication and soon after became pregnant.

At the same time, I was working with seriously ill patients in clinical settings and kept returning to the same thought: Western medicine isn’t the whole picture.

That realization led me to complete the Integrative Health & Lifestyle Program through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, which helped shape my holistic, evidence-based approach to nutrition care.

Living What I Teach

After several years focused on raising my family, I began prioritizing my health again. In 2025, another routine test showed my HbA1c was elevated.

This time, I approached the news differently. Life changes — stress, sleep, aging, and daily habits all impact health. While we can’t control genetics, we can control many of the choices that influence long-term wellness.

That’s exactly what I help my clients do.  These defining moments of my life shaped who I am as a person and as a practitioner.  I'd love to work with those who need the guidance to better their lives.

Credentials & Education

I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) based in the Bronx, New York.

I earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Didactic Dietetics (2004) and my Master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Sciences (2008) from Queens College, CUNY.

The connection between nutrition and movement has always been central to my philosophy — because the two work best together.

Fitness & Personal Training

I’m also an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and have worked with clients of all ages and fitness levels, focusing on functional fitness, weight management, and sustainable lifestyle habits.

In 2013, I participated in the NYC Shape Up program as a boot camp instructor and trained through Equinox’s Personal Training Program. I’m currently working toward a group fitness instructor certification and have a strong interest in sports nutrition.

After dealing with my own health journey, realizing that not every provider prioritizes your well being, I continue to be different.  People come to me when they may have lost faith in providers who listen and truly care about them.  Those looking to better their blood glucose control, truly understand and try to solve their body's "mysteries", and seek better athletic performance, I'm here to guide you!

Outside the Office

When I’m not seeing clients in the Bronx, I’m spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, learning Spanish and ASL, or cheering on the New York Yankees.

In 2020, I also launched Love You Lots Bits, a small beauty brand created when I couldn’t find skincare products that were cruelty-free, plastic-free, and made with simple ingredients.
